Starting in January Clackamas River winter Steelhead start their homeward
migration. We will intercept these fish using varying methods including;
plugs, diver bait and side drifting. We fish the upper areas of the
Clackamas by driftboat and the lower river
near its mouth with our power
boat. The Clackamas River supports healthy runs of
Coho
salmon, spring and fall
fall Chinook salmon, and summer and
winter steelhead. It is a popular destination for
recreational fishing
and
whitewater rafting.

The Clackamas River, in Oregon, is just 30 munities from
downtown Portland.
This Oregon river offers some truly spectacular winter steelhead and
summer
steelhead guided fishing. The Clackamas River
is a beautiful and very scenic
river.
The standard hatchery steelhead runs, both
summer and winter, have been slowly replaced over the past years with a true
native stock of
wild steelhead.
These fish return later (March-May) and in greater numbers, fight harder and are
larger then their hatchery raised counterparts averaging 12 to 15 pounds each, with some
fish as large as 20 pounds or
more being caught. Charter a fishing trip now for
Clackamas River
or Sandy River steelhead
as seats fill well in advance of the seasons (Dec-May).

"I provide boat access to
some of the best
steelhead waters on the
Sandy River and
Clackamas River. The reaches of
both these Oregon rivers offer incredible beauty. The
Clackamas is an urban river and the Sandy River is a bit more wild. On both Sandy River and
Clackamas
River trips we back bounce bait and/or lures with great success. With lots
of bright, wild, native steelhead along with ample runs of hatchery
steelhead you can see why this is one of the favorite
steelhead fishing adventures in Oregon."
